I am a life-long resident of the Bogalusa area, the son of Elaine and Purvis Hall. I was born in New Orleans on the day that the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway opened. I still reside in the area, living in Crossroads, Mississippi where my mother and father were raised. I have two children; Quinn, the oldest, graduated from Mississippi State University and is now employed by NASA at The John C. Stennis Space Center (SSC), a rocket testing facility in Hancock County, Mississippi. Melanie graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and is the owner and operator of Rose Gold Occasions, an event planning service in Southern Mississippi. In addition, Melanie works with Core Group Restorations, Inc as an event planner.

After graduating Bogalusa High School in 1974, I pursued a career in broadcasting which culminated in the purchase and operation of WBOX AM and putting WBOX FM on the air. I have served in several civic positions including Public Information Officer for the Bogalusa Civil Defense, Membership Chairman for the Washington Parish Free Fair and Chairman for Bogalusa's 4th of July Paper Festival. In addition, I was identified as one of the most influential citizens of Washington Parish in a poll conducted by the Bogalusa Daily News. During my time in Bogalusa, and continuing till today, I served as emcee and announcer for numerous events including BHS football and MCCA Mardi Gras Ball. After selling WBOX, I worked a variety of retail jobs including Walmart and A & P Grocery Store and began attending the University of New Orleans.
After graduating UNO in 2001, I began working at Poplarville High School teaching science and theater for 13 years. After graduating UNO in 2001, I began working at Poplarville High School teaching science and theater for 13 years. During my time at PHS I coached the Fish Fighters, a highly successful quiz bowl team, to six regional victories in the Hurricane Bowl, part of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl competition. I also produced numerous thetrical shows including The Crucible, Harvey, and Grease. The Grease cast and crew consisted of 17% of the students at Poplarville High School and was designed to provide an extracurricular activity for students after Hurricane Katrina. I also was the announcer at PHS for Hornet football, basketball, softball and baseball games. After leaving PHS in 2014 I returned to my alma mater Bogalusa High School believing that I could make a difference. In 2020 I moved to Northshore Charter School where I taught for three years before returning to Bogalusa High School for the 2022-23 school year. I am now retired from teaching and using my time to catch up with house chores, repairs and yard work.
